Olly Murs celebrated his new role on The Voice on a night out with his fellow judges in Manchester.
The former X Factor contestant was confirmed to be joining the panel on the rival BBC singing show yesterday.
The star was all smiles as he enjoyed a night out with co-stars Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson at Hotel Gotham on King Street.
They were joined by host Emma Willis and last year’s finalist Jamie Miller, who will return to the series as a backstage reporter for the show’s digital platforms.
Olly, who will replace Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale on the panel, said of his appointment: “I’m absolutely buzzing about being a coach on The Voice UK and can’t wait to sit in the big red chair alongside will, Jennifer and Tom.
“I’m excited to mentor new artists and without doubt, I’m in it to WIN!”
The Voice is filmed at the BBC’s MediaCityUK studios at Salford Quays, so fans can expect to spot Olly out and about in Manchester as filming takes place over the coming weeks.
But he might not receive a warm welcome from everyone. Last year, the council said it was ‘not impressed’ when he pulled out of the city’s Team GB Olympic parade party at the last minute.
